Motorsports Scholarship Program for North Carolina Students

The North Carolina Motorsports Foundation (NCMF) is committed to developing the next generation of motorsports professionals. The Foundation supports students pursuing careers in racing and the broader motorsports industry through its annual scholarship program, helping open doors for talented individuals seeking education and training in one of North Carolina’s most important industries.

Scholarship Programs

Each year, NCMF awards multiple scholarships through two distinct programs:

Sam Belnavis Scholarship Award

The Sam Belnavis Scholarship Award honors the legacy of a true industry trailblazer. Belnavis spent more than 30 years in motorsports, serving in leadership roles including marketing department manager for Miller Brewing Company and chief diversity officer and owner designate at Roush Fenway Racing. His career and commitment to opportunity continue to inspire the foundation's mission.

NCMF General Scholarship Awards

In addition, General Scholarship Awards are granted annually, with each award valued at no less than $2,500. These awards help students offset the cost of education as they prepare for careers across the motorsports ecosystem.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for an NCMF Scholarship Award, applicants must:

  • Be entering or currently enrolled at a North Carolina educational institution, including a four-year college or university (graduate or postgraduate), two-year community college, or technical/trade school
